Chennai Drips & Drops

Ask anyone about Chennai...There common reply will be"Oh its hot machi!!" (Not just because of Radio Mirchi :-))
But things changed this year....
Floods ruled the metro through the months of September,October,November...
Yet expecting one more storm in December)
Lot of things were forced to surrender before the mighty nature...
1.BCCI falling as an easy prey to the monsoon, which swiped all the cricket matches in chennai...the cricket lovers were left with their useless ticket that too wet.
2.Currents were switched off in many areas..though the death toll came down due to this..they couldn't just eliminate the life loss...
3.Most year ends used to cause devastation ....may be the nature too has its own balance sheet to submit.
4.But there's a good behind every evil...this monsoon though devastating has left the thirsty Chennai population with pompus water for the year ahead..
5.(Atleast)Two of the govt dept got hectic ...Metrological dept and PWD Dept..
One forecasting the rain which has already ruined the hopes of people
other repaying their deeds as most lakes breach either due to their pocket filling or due to the filling of the politician pockets..
6.Media ....making a merry...Rival political channels spitting each other...while the drenched news papers got a year end bonus..
7.Hearts melt seeing poor people at the river banks loosing lives, livestocks and livelyhood to their swollen neighbourhood.
8.Some believed that donkey wedding and monkey wedding has brought their fruits.
I know, at max a wedding can bring misery at one extreme and children at other extreme never a rain in between. If it can please search for those stranded donkeys and monkeys and at once file a divorce for them...perhaps could stop the havoc of rain
9.Can't control telling my fate....
Being a bachelor in chennai in this rain has its own taste...
My wet clothes not drying and my dirt clothes can't be washed..
Nights without electric current but a strong cold wave current..
Atleast my relatives are near(usually 1.5 hr journey) but when I started on one such rainy day by 8...it took 2 hours to reach half the way by train...!!!Stopped...Yes the train stopped even before the station at half the distance was reached...I has to walk for about 20 mins in knee deep water with stones ,pellets ,railway tracks, iron rods and gutters with no light to reach the nearby station Tambaram slipping thrice on the tracks.
Had to catch another train to reach my aunts house..which as expected got cancelled...
After swimming(can't call it a walk) to the nearby busstop...and after chasing two housefull buses... finally got one...
But learnt a lesson...people giving lift were eager to lift you in their vehicle only if you are a young GIRL(Poranthalum ambilaya porakka kudathu)
When I finally reached home after taking a auto half the way for triple charge...it was past midnight...
10.Finally its time for us to remember our childhood days and sing
"RAIN RAIN GO AWAY COME AGAIN ANOTHER DAY"
